類人猿下目

類人猿下目（學名：Simiiformes）是一類高等靈長類，由舊世界猴及猿組成。牠們比原猴亞目的要大。

分類及演化

類人猿下目分成三類。闊鼻小目於約4000萬年前分支出來，只餘下狹鼻小目留在舊世界。狹鼻小目再於2500萬年前分支開成舊世界猴及猿。猴是一個併系群。早期分類將靈長目分為原猴亞目及類人猿亞目。
