长鼻目

长鼻目（学名：Proboscidea）是哺乳动物一个目，只包含一个现存科，象科，即大象。包括普通非洲象 (Loxodonta africana)、非洲森林象 (Loxodonta cyclotis)和亚洲象（Elephas maximus）三个物种。

在冰川期有很多现已灭绝的物种，包括与大象相似的猛犸(長毛象)、乳齿象、恐象、铲齿象、軛齒象。已知的最早的长鼻目动物是古兽象以及随后的磷灰兽、始祖象等。

更新世時期的納瑪象為最大型的象，同時也是有史以來體型最大的陸生哺乳動物之一。
